Project Description:
This was a large-scale commercial roof replacement at Victory West Shopping Center, a high-traffic retail hub requiring a durable, energy-efficient solution to protect its tenants and customers. This project covered approximately 98,000 square feet of roof area and had to be installed with efficiency to minimize disruption to ongoing business operations.
The roofing system selected for this project was the Firestone 60 mil white TPO membrane, which provides superior durability, UV resistance, and long-term performance in commercial applications. The membrane was mechanically attached to ensure a secure installation capable of withstanding wind uplift and the weather extremes we can experience in Hampton Roads.
Beneath the membrane, we installed a single layer of 2.6″ Firestone ISO 95+ GL insulation, delivering an LTTR value of 15 to enhance the building’s energy efficiency and interior climate control. This high-performance insulation plays a critical role in reducing energy costs and maintaining tenant comfort throughout the year.
To complete the system, we fabricated and installed new 24-gauge steel coping, custom-fitted to provide clean lines and maximum protection at the roof’s edge. At the rear of the building, we installed a new gutter and downspout system to ensure proper drainage and water management across the expansive roof surface.
