This elegant new construction home and pool house created a completely custom and unique style through the use of different roofing materials and slopes.
Shingle sections of the home and pool house were done in GAF Hi-Def Mission Brown including a metal drip edge. Where necessary, we installed a .027 aluminum apron, step and counterflashing. We also provided through-brick flashing, with extra care and attention given to brick-over-roof areas to ensure there was no water infiltration.
On the complimentary accent metal roofing areas, a snap-lock standing seam metal roof system was fabricated from.032 Aluminum in Sentriclad Metal with a Dark Bronze factory applied Kynar 500 paint finish. Curved metal drip edge and coping were installed without kinks, ripples or relief cuts on the face of the metal.
For the flat areas, including a second-floor open deck, we installed .5″ Firestone HD coverboard insulation over wood decking. Tapered insulation was installed at areas needed to promote positive water flow before mechanically attaching Firestone 60 mil UltraPly TPO membrane including 12” up the side walls. A TPO coated drip edge metal was installed at the roof’s perimeters. Deck posts and column penetrations were flashed and sealed and an aluminum cap was installed on parapet walls between the flat roof and shingled roofs.
All of these high-quality roofing materials came together to create a complex and ultimately stunning final product for these owners’ dream home.
