Roofing Material Used: TPO Membrane; 24-gauge steel coping
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Project Description:
Andrews Roofing provided our roofing services for the new sanctuary addition at Western Branch Community Church in Chesapeake, VA. To ensure proper water management, our team installed a mechanically attached, tapered poly-iso insulation system that directs rainfall toward internal roof drains and overflow drains. Over the insulation, we applied a 45 mil white TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) membrane roof system manufactured by GenFlex, designed for long-term performance in commercial applications. The project was completed with a 20-year finish and durable 24-gauge steel coping for added protection and a clean, finished appearance.
TPO roofing is a popular choice for modern commercial buildings due to its energy efficiency, reflective surface, and resistance to punctures and tears. The white membrane helps reduce heat absorption, lowering cooling costs during Virginia’s hot summers, while the tapered insulation ensures water is effectively channeled away from the roof to prevent pooling and leaks. In addition to the new sanctuary roof, our team also made commercial metal roof repairs to the church’s existing structure, extending its service life and ensuring a watertight system across the entire facility.
