Roofing Material Used: Duro-Last 40 mil PVC including DensDeck
Location: 1805 Frederick Blvd, Portsmouth, VA
Roof Size: 40 Squares
Project Description:
For this Chipotle commercial shell building, we completed the installation of a high-performance roofing system, which began with R-30 polyiso insulation, which provides excellent thermal resistance to maintain energy efficiency and reduce heating and cooling costs. To enhance structural durability and fire resistance, we applied a 1/2-inch DensDeck cover board, creating a solid, resilient foundation for the roofing membrane.
The roof system features a Duro-Last 40 mil PVC membrane, fully adhered to ensure a seamless, watertight barrier. Duro-Last’s prefabricated membrane is custom-made for each project, significantly reducing the number of seams and the potential for leaks. Its reflective white surface enhances energy efficiency by reflecting sunlight and reducing heat absorption, making it a cost-effective and sustainable choice for commercial buildings.
To further protect the roof and improve its aesthetic appeal, we installed 24-gauge metal coping along the top of the parapet walls. This coping serves as a durable protective cap, preventing water infiltration and contributing to the longevity of the roof system.
